About
QuadGirls.com - Interview from ATV Exposed.com
By Chuck DeBault
Who
are you? How old are you?
My
name is Christa Watson. I’m 20 years old and have
been a female quad racer for almost 6 years. I started and
run QuadGirls.com with the help of every lady quad racer
in the country.
Are
you married or Single?
I
am not married, but sorry boys, I am definitely off the
market.
Tell
us about yourself - something people may or may not know
about you (on and/or off track)
A
lot of people don't realize I'm that friendly voice you
hear when you call JB Racing in East Springfield Pennsylvania.
Where
do you live?
I
live in Ashtabula, Ohio, right off the Pennsylvania state
line and off of Lake Erie.
What
drives you?
I
think I am most driven by the idea that I can shock everyone.
I absolutely love the feeling when I have out done everyone’s
expectations. I think its a driving force for all female
racers... I am also way to competitive, but I try not to
talk about that much.
Who
inspires you?
My
grandmother - she was one tough cookie. I get all my spunk,
sarcasm, and pride from her.
Do
you work or go to school/ college?
I
actually do both. I work at JB Racing full time during the
day and take night classes full time as well. This past
semester, I was on the Deans List with a GPA of 3.675. In
tune with my competitive nature, I'd like to think I’m
employee of the month at JB Racing pretty consistently,
but since we don't do that sort of thing, I can't prove
it. (But neither can they.)
Tell
us about your goals?
Right
now I am mainly concerned with my career and my schooling.
These things have to be my priority so that racing can be
my future. I plan to be involved in racing for the rest
of my life.
Why
do you do it?
I
do it because lady quad riders deserve it. Starting QuadGirls.com,
I began a second career as female racer ambassador. I feel
an obligation to the ladies to ensure they get the recognition
they deserve because I am one of the ladies. I raced beside
these girls and I know what it means to be overlooked because
of gender. Long after I am another forgotten washed up racer,
I'll still be the ladies #1 fan, supporter, cheerleader,
ambassador, and anything else they could possible need.
How
long has it been around?
QuadGirls.com
has been around for 6 years this year. I started the site
when I began racing as a place for our local women's class
of 4 to keep in touch throughout the week. Before long,
ladies from across the country logged on for results, stories,
interviews, and gossip. Now, we have almost 800 members
from around the world with more joining every day. It’s
amazing to watch the sport and the women's racing classes
grow from where we were 6 years ago.
How
much work is it?
Luckily,
I have some of the most amazing friends and colleagues that
help me with the site. Josh at OhioQuadRacing.com was a
huge help when I started the site and most recently Rayne
Sanders from MXAdrenaline.com helped me with the current
layout and coding. Staff Members Katelynn, and Dave help
a lot and Chuck at Inferno Racing handles my pictures. It’s
really a team effort with the site and everyone helps. It’s
a lot to keep up with, but at QuadGirls.com, we are all
family and our members have been so forgiving when I can't
keep up. Every year we do more and more, and we have some
amazing things coming soon!
